Here's what you'll need if you plan to make it at home:

1 can of chickpeas: cooked in their own juice +a little water for about 15 minutes. After cooking, strain and put the water in a glass to the side (don't throw this out)

1/4 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (this will take 1-1.5 lemons)

1/3 cup tahini (well-stirred before portioned)...have more of this on hand to add at the end to desired taste)

1 garlic clove, minced

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil 

1/2 teaspoon cumin

1/2 teaspoon salt

Your favorite veggie to dip in hummus

Food processor 

Small Silicone Spatula
