Lunch & Learn: Amotz Eyal
Wednesday, June 18, 2025 • 22 Sivan 5785
11:30 AM - 1:00 PMBoard RoomAmotz Eyal is the founder and CEO of The Press Service of Israel (TPS-IL), the only Israeli news agency. Managing over 450 professional newsdesk and citizen volunteers across Israel, Amotz and his team are the official news source for all Israel related content in a growing number of countries around the world, reaching over 6 billion through news partners in the last year.
Amotz founded TPS-IL in 2010 after years of frustration with how Israel was portrayed in the international media. After discovering that the majority of media coverage of Israel comes from: Associated Press (AP), Reuters, Agence France-Presse (AFP), or one of the 14 Palestinian news agencies, Amotz took matters into his own hands and developed Israel’s news agency, TPS-IL. TPS-IL holds major partnerships with hundreds of news networks internationally, as well as 20 news agencies within the Arab world, Europe, Latin America, and Asia, feeding into thousands of news organizations each day.
TPS-IL provides partners and customers with accurate coverage of Israel: photos, videos, articles, and top-quality investigative content, sourced directly from the scene of news events. Through the work of TPS-IL, Amotz is transforming the way millions of people perceive and understand Israel.
Additionally, Amotz is a lecturer at Reichman University (IDC Herzliya) and for the past five years, has taught a course on “Communications in Conflict Zones.” He also serves as a commander in an reserve elite unit in the Israel Defense Forces tasked with special anti-terror operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and has been on active reserve duty since the morning of Oct. 7th.
Amotz lives in Jerusalem with his wife, Yaara, and their two children.
