This class is for students becoming Bet (Bar, Bat, B'nai) Mitzvah between August 2026 and December 2026. (The exception are students who missed a previous class, check with Rabbi Phyllis if you have questions)

As a precursor to individual preparation for Bet (Bar, Bat, B'nai) Mitzvah, there will be a required three-week Family Class with Rabbi Lowenstein and Rabbi Sommer for you and your child(ren). During this class, you will learn and discuss various aspects of the Bet Mitzvah experience, including requirements for the process, Mitzvah Projects, and Torah portions.

This class is mandatory and an integral part of your family’s preparation for your student’s Bet Mitzvah. We expect that a student will attend with at least one parent or other adult.

This class is three weeks long and will take place at Am Shalom.
