This section is designed to guide your access to information already shared with our B’nai Mitzvah families at the classes and meetings you have with our Clergy, professional tutors and our staff. B’nai Mitzvah Central may serve as a quick reference for most everything having to do with your child’s Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah. However, nothing serves as a substitute for these personal encounters throughout the 18-24 months culminating with a Bar/Bat Mitzvah Service.
Forms
All of which are distributed in person at your Clergy meetings or taken directly from the Mitzvah journal but if you need a replacement copy you may find what you’re looking for here.
Mitzvah
Find the Family Mitzvah University requirements, dates & sign up information as well as the Am Shalom Mitzvah Bank. The Mitzvah Information Bank is intended as a starting point for students and families looking for a mitzvah project with examples of successful projects and contact information.
Prayers
Grade 5 and 6 Hebrew students are busy learning the T'fillot or prayers in the Friday night and Saturday morning Siddur (prayer book). Through the ongoing study of these prayers, Am Shalom students show a rapid growth in skills as they move beyond letter recognition and decoding to prayer fluency. In addition, students are learning the meaning behind these prayers and are beginning to cultivate a spiritual life in connection with their synagogue. Here you will find the prayers and melodies we use at Am Shalom. Click on both the audio and text to continue your progress in prayer fluency!
